Welcome

Welcome to my internet den, the place where you can join my practice, learning and teaching!

So what can I find here?

If you are interested or in a software business startup, Laurie Young, Robert Dempsey and myself uncovered interesting ways of developing a business, the customers and a software product and I described my favourite way of building software.

If you are a software developer or a manager interested in growing your (or your team’s) skills, understand when and how you need to use automatic testing, what is software craftsmanship, how to organize a code retreat, find out what I’ve learned from J.B. Rainsberger and Corey Haines and join my remote pair programming tour.

If you want to understand what’s with this agile movement, see what Maria Diaconu and I would like to answer to some key questions about agile.

If you’d like to contract me for learning unit testing, learning TDD, improving the organization of the project team, contact me.

If you’d like to invite me to speak at an event, contact me.

If you think this website can be improved please drop me a note. Any feedback from viewers is invaluable to me.

Who are you, anyway?

My name is Alexandru Bolboacă, I’m a Software Developer, trainer & consultant at Mosaic Works, speaker at conferences and writer whenever I can spare the time. I’m a continuous learner, always curios and always trying to make connections between the things I learn. My favourite topics include how to develop software better and better software and how the brain works, among many others. I’m actively promoting the Software Craftsmanship movement in Romania, co-organizing the AgileWorks community and the OpenAgile Romania conference and helping teams that want to do a better job. I’ve learned a lot from people like J.B. Rainsberger or Corey Haines, David Hussman or Rachel Davies, and from some of my friends which are venture capitalists. I am also an advisor for SeedMoney, an angel investment fund that also created the first Bucharest online business accelerator.

I also like to cook, read, play games, learn, think and talk about interesting stuff with interesting people and to guide foreigners through Bucharest and Romania, and sometimes host them, in exchange of interesting discussions.

Thank you for your visit!
